About Ohio Barber College -- Philosophy

We feel our curriculum must offer the proper blend of theoretical instruction, classroom practice and actual service provided to the public. We have designed a program to provide all of the above. Students are scheduled for class regularly to obtain theory as well as practice, and clinic time is scheduled so students can perform actual services for the public. We enhance clinic practice by locating our school in a busy metropolitan area where a large number of patrons can enter our school to obtain a variety of hair styling services, which provide outstanding opportunities for hands on training.

The primary objective of the Ohio State College of Barber Styling is to produce graduates that are sufficiently trained to pass the Ohio State Barber Board licensing examination, and to find gainful employment in the barbering profession. It is expected that this employment will be an entry-level position, therefore the course is designed to provide entry-level abilities to our students.

A secondary objective is to provide the stimulus to encourage those students with higher goals to advance beyond the basic curriculum requirements through a combination of faculty leadership, personal attention, encouragement and advanced classes.
